Privacy Policy

FamilyPay is a client-side calculator. Every calculation — income tax, Medicare levy, Family Tax Benefit, Child Care Subsidy, leave accrual — happens entirely inside your web browser. The income figures, salary details, and family information you enter are never sent to any server we operate and are never stored in any database.

We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, or give us any contact details to use the calculator. You can use FamilyPay completely anonymously.

FamilyPay (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an Australian household income calculator. We operate the website at familypaycalculator.vercel.app (and any future domain we publish the service under). References to “you” mean any person visiting or using this website.

This Policy applies to information collected through the FamilyPay website only. It does not apply to third-party websites we may link to.

Information you enter into the calculator

Salary figures, childcare fees, leave balances, and all other inputs you type into FamilyPay are processed locally in your browser only. This information is not transmitted to our servers, not stored, and not logged. When you close or refresh the browser tab, the data is gone.

Server logs (Vercel hosting)

FamilyPay is hosted on Vercel. Like all web servers, Vercel’s infrastructure automatically records standard HTTP request logs — including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp — when your device fetches the website. This is normal and unavoidable for any hosted website.

These logs are controlled by Vercel under their own Privacy Policy. We do not access, export, or analyse individual-level server log data.

Google Fonts

The site loads fonts from fonts.googleapis.com. This results in a network request to Google servers when you first visit, which may be logged by Google under their Privacy Policy. No personal information from FamilyPay is shared with Google in this process.

Analytics

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party behavioural tracking or advertising script on FamilyPay. If this ever changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated before any tracking code is deployed.

Cookies

FamilyPay does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Your browser may store small items in sessionStorage or localStorage to preserve your calculator state during a session, but this data exists only on your own device and is not accessible to us.

Because we do not collect your Personal Information, we cannot and do not use it for marketing, profiling, data brokerage, advertising targeting, or any other purpose. The only data processing that occurs is the numerical calculation that takes place in your browser to produce your results.

Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics (e.g. total page views) may be reviewed to understand how the site is being used and to improve it. These statistics cannot be used to identify you individually.

We do not maintain a database of user data. There is nothing to retain, delete, or export. Your calculator inputs exist only in your browser’s memory while the page is open.

If you contact us by email, we will retain your message only as long as needed to respond and resolve the matter, after which it will be deleted.

FamilyPay is operated in Australia and is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Because we do not hold your Personal Information, most APP rights — including access, correction, and erasure — are satisfied by design.

If you believe we hold any Personal Information about you (for example, from an email you have sent us), you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of that information at any time.

FamilyPay is a financial estimation tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you are under 18, please use FamilyPay only with the guidance of a parent or guardian.

FamilyPay includes links to external sources such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Services Australia, and Fair Work Ombudsman for reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information to them.

Because your financial data never leaves your browser, the traditional risks of data breaches on our server side do not apply to your calculator inputs. The FamilyPay website itself is served over HTTPS. We rely on Vercel’s infrastructure security for the website delivery layer.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes — such as the introduction of analytics or any form of data collection — will be communicated by updating this page and revising the “Last updated” date. We will never introduce data collection practices that affect you materially without updating this policy first.

Your continued use of FamilyPay after a policy update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised policy.
